After a wonderful experience in Ghana, it was time for another international experience. This time it would be Slovakia. The focus of this project was to help out at an orphanage; socializing with the children that lived there and doing some service together. Also we would work with a school and give some presentations there. |

In June 2010, YSI organised an art project involving everybody on the street of Auriollaan, with the purpose of showing how everybody on the street is a member of this community, and each person contributes to the whole. It was also a great chance for neighbours to come and socialise and for YSI to show who we are. |

 This year once again for the 3rd time, the two Teams of YSI set out for the international Ghana project, after successfully raising funds by going through some tough and nice experiences.

On Monday 19th of April I attended the first day of the international week at the 'Hogeschool Utrecht' in Amersfoort. I was asked a month before to give a workshop to a group of social work students explaining what is YSI and what I am doing here in Holland. After hearing a lecture on social work in the Netherlands, UK and USA I found myself leading my own workshop with a group of 9 students.

 On the 05th March 2010 The YSI Team Rotterdam was invited to take part in a cultural music Festival organized by the Holy fire House of Rotterdam, located near the Holy fire church in the south of Rotterdam.
The purpose of the Music festival was to experience and bring together the different nations and cultures through music.

 As usual everything started with a hot cup of coffe and for who doesn't like coffe/ tea. Anyway warming up we started the real HARD work...renovating 4 gardens in a few hours! And we made it! That's incredible. good job guys! But maybe it's better if I start from the beginning. This team project was completed on the 20th March...Saturday one day before SPRING!!!

 Our monthly Team Project for January was scheduled to take Place at the “Resto van Harte” in Schiemond on Tuesday 26th. Resto van Harte works with volunteers and twice a week offers a three course dinner for a very affordable price in order for people of the neighborhood to socialize and feel part of the community.
